Recycled Waste

Recycling is the process of converting used materials into new products in order to prevent waste of useful materials. Recycling is the third components of waste hierarchy, which consist of reduce, reuse and recycle. By recycling, consumption of new raw materials are reduced, leading to reduced energy consumption, pollutions, waste disposal problems and emission of green house gases. Furthermore, metals such as copper and iron exist in limited quantity and would eventually run out.

Recycling can be done on various materials such as metal, plastic, glass and even paper. Today technology has enabled this recycled item to be given new lease of life, with no difference at all to new materials. So concerns regarding recycling item being of inferior quality is no longer valid.

Although recycling process requires dedicated facility which may not be available in all places, it is still possible for everyone to do a part in it. Proper sorting and disposal of products into the designated area according to their material category should be done. This simple practice would definitely facilitate the recycling process, making the environment greener.
